Trista Thinnes, DVM
Dr. Trista Thinnes first started working in a veterinary clinic at age 15 and fell in love with it. Growing up on a small farm in Missouri, her childhood included showing Quarter Horses and helping her parents with the Angus cattle farm. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in animal science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. She also interned at Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery and is certified in bovine artificial insemination (A.I.) by Select Sires. Her love of small animals was undeniable, so she quickly transitioned to practicing on dogs and cats.
Dr. Thinnes loves practicing at The PARC because of its culture of caring for clients. She originally joined the team at Hulen Hills in 2007. Now with more than 10 years’ experience as a veterinarian, Dr. Thinnes is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys emergency work, internal medicine, sonography and caring for hospitalized patients. She and her husband, Mark, have three children and two dogs – a pug named Dexter and a Brittany spaniel named Bennet.
Advice for pet owners: Have as much fun as possible with your pets. Make sure they visit a veterinarian twice a year for preventative care. Notice small changes in their daily routine, and let us know about it. You are their biggest advocate.
Favorite vacation: Any time spent outdoors with my family is precious. We enjoy gardening, barbecue creations, camping and visiting the family’s ranch in West Texas.
