John Strohmeyer, DVM
Dr. John Strohmeyer brings over five years of career experience to The PARC, but he started in the field much earlier, shadowing his veterinarian mother as a child. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science and then his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, then built experience as an emergency veterinarian at Creekside Pet Care Center in Keller, and as a relief emergency veterinarian at Animal Emergency Hospital of Mansfield and Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas. At The PARC, he continues that focus, along with a special interest in emergency surgical procedures.
Dr. Strohmeyer lives in North Richland Hills, Texas, with his wife Shelby, their son Kayce, and their beloved pets: Bowen, an English Labrador retriever; Maggie, a golden retriever; and Penelope, a jack-a-poo. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Strohmeyer enjoys mountain skiing, trail running with his golden retriever, weight lifting, golf, brewery tours and college football – especially cheering for the UGA Bulldogs.
Advice for pet owners: Purchase a pet insurance plan with new puppies or kittens. Emergency medicine can be very costly and traumatic. Most insurance plans offer fantastic reimbursement policies.
What "job title" would be on your pets’ name tags? Bowen – Food Taster, Dishwasher, Home Protector. Maggie – Marathon Runner.
