The PARC’s Efforts to Help Homeless Pets and Families in Need Wins Thrive Contest

In an inspiring show of community spirit, The PARC’s holiday donation drive has made a significant impact on the lives of homeless pets and families struggling to feed their animals, and received special recognition from Thrive Pet Care. Thanks to the collective generosity of our team, clients, and supporters, our efforts resulted in a number of donations to the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) and the “Don’t Forget to Feed Me” Pet Food Bank.

Feeding Pets in Need Through the “Don’t Forget to Feed Me” Pet Food Bank

The first event was our donation to the “Don’t Forget to Feed Me” Pet Food Bank, an organization dedicated to helping families keep their pets fed during tough times. Recognizing the financial strains many families face, we were able to donate 2,000 pounds of dry pet food and 1,000 cans of wet pet food.

This donation was particularly important given the rising number of families who are struggling to provide for their pets. The pet food bank helps ensure that these animals remain fed and healthy, preventing families from being forced to surrender their pets due to financial hardship. The contribution from the hospital came at a time when the “Don’t Forget to Feed Me” Pet Food Bank sees a sharp increase in demand, especially during the holiday season when resources can be scarce.

Supporting Homeless Pets with Heartfelt Donations

Another significant contribution we made focused on helping the homeless animals at the Humane Society of North Texas. In partnership with The PARC, The PARC Grand Resort, and The PARC Express, the community was invited to take part in a unique and heartwarming campaign. Ornaments featuring homeless pets were placed on display at these locations, with each ornament listing the items the pet needed. Participants could then pick an ornament, purchase these items, and place the ornament on their Christmas tree as a special keepsake to remember their generosity.

The response was overwhelming. Thanks to the outpouring of support, we were able to deliver five full carloads of donations to HSNT, including pet food, treats, toys, blankets, and cat litter. Additionally, over $1,000 worth of PetSmart gift cards were donated. These gift cards have already been put to great use by HSNT, ensuring the pets have the supplies they need while they await their forever homes.
