Carol Chong, DVM

Dr. Carol Chong always tried to help animals from a young age – she even jokes that she chose to become a vet after learning the Care of Magical Creatures position at Hogwarts was already filled. Now, she finds magic in the high-quality care and compassion of The PARC.

Dr. Chong attended Rutgers University, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Auburn University, earning a Bachelor of Science in animal science followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Over 10 years practicing, she developed a specialty in soft tissue surgery and trauma care. Dr. Chong is also a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.

Originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, Dr. Chong now lives in Fort Worth with three dogs – a coconut retriever, Penny; mastiff mix, Leonard; and Maltipoo, Benjamin. She also has three dart frogs and two rabbits back in New Jersey. In her spare time, Dr. Chong loves trying new things, from new local restaurants to travel destinations around the world.

Fun fact about your pet: Penny is a very skilled escape artist; this little 15-pound dog can clear a 4-foot fence with no problem.

Advice for pet owners: Make sure you stay up to date on your vaccines and heartworm prevention. Heartworm disease is extremely preventable.
